Pneumatic actuators

Pneumatic actuators are air or gas operated automatic devices for low (30-250 psi) and high (300-3000 psi) pressure. Air operated actuators may work with air instruments, nitrogen, sweet gas, pneumatic pumping gas and sour gas; these actuators are used to automate gate, ball, plug, butterfly or damper valves.

Different actuation mechanisms exist, including symmetric or canted scotch yoke, rack & pinion, vein and piston type for lineal valves.

These actuators depend on instruments and/or fixtures to operate, such as solenoids, limit switches, filter, regulator, manometer, high and/or low pressure pilots, electric switches, bypass valves, maintenance valves, partial test devices, eutectic devices, storage tanks, nitrogen banks, local operation button panel, remote operation button panel, controllers, PLC, communication protocols, and fire retardant protection, among others.

Operation times range from medium to fast at a 1 sec/inch rate, or less. Furthermore, they are equipped with wheel, manual gear box or hydraulic pump. Ideal for environments with pneumatic power supply, and ideal for emergency shutdowns or pipeline sectioning.
